OktoStream Privacy Policy

Effective Date: June 10, 2026

OktoStream is a production utility for monitoring LiveKit video streams, recording takes, managing slate metadata, and reviewing recorded clips on iPhone and iPad.

Information Stored on Your Device

OktoStream stores app settings locally on your device, including channel names, stream server profiles, room or stream identifiers, recent stream settings, slate information, and developer mode preferences.

When you record a take, OktoStream creates a video file on your device. Recording metadata such as scene, shot, take, channel, notes, and tags may be stored next to the recording. Thumbnail images may also be cached locally to display the recordings list.

Network Connections

OktoStream connects to the LiveKit or streaming servers that you select or configure in the app. These servers may receive room names, stream identifiers, participant identity values, token requests, and WebRTC signaling data required to connect to and monitor live streams.

OktoStream does not upload local recordings unless you choose to share or export them using iOS sharing features.

Camera, Microphone, and Local Network Access

OktoStream may request camera, microphone, or local network permissions when required by iOS or by media streaming features used by the app.

Camera and microphone access, if used, is only for live media workflows. Local network access is used to connect to local streaming servers configured by the user.

Tracking and Advertising

OktoStream does not include advertising and does not track you across apps or websites.

Analytics

OktoStream does not currently use third-party analytics services.

Data Sharing

OktoStream does not sell user data. Data is not shared with third parties except as necessary to connect to the streaming servers configured by the user or when the user explicitly shares a recording through iOS sharing features.
